Chinese Medicine from Bromelain

Bromelain

Bromelain can be one of the two enzymes extracted in one plant family. Or it can be a combination of enzymes and the other compounds that are produced from an extract.
Bromelain is present in pineapple and papaya fruits. In both plants, their stem and their fruit are extracted with the same enzyme. Oftentimes, Bromelain is referred to as proteolytic enzyme that helps in protein digestion.

Bromelain enzymes are naturally found in the stems and the fruits of plants. They are actually mass-produced in tropical countries like Thailand, Taiwan, and others places where pineapples are cultivated. In preparing Bromelain, the stem part is peeled, crushed, and pressed in order to extract the juice that contains the enzyme. And then, Bromelain will be further processed. The pressed juice will undergo concentration to obtain a more purified enzyme. Such procedures are usually conducted inside factories under strictly controlled conditions. This is performed in order to assure the microbiological quality and purity of the enzyme.

The Bromelain enzyme is an anti-inflammatory agent. It is very useful to those who suffer from injuries, trauma, arthritis, and other types of swelling.
Further studies shows that Bromelain is good for platelet reduction and reducing the blood clots in the bloodstreams and arteries. Bromelain proposes great potentials in treating HIV, though it needs a little more time for research, testing, and further studies.
